BELLE, RARE, TRÈS GRANDE 19ème. PICHET économies TOUR MAJOLIQUE MINTON CENTURY - 1870

This really is a superb, and I would think quite rare and very large Minton Majolica ‘Tower Jug' made in 1870 (see cypher mark) at the Minton Factory Stoke-on-Trent. In a large lidded cylindrical form, it is depicted in the Medievalist taste with superb relief images of dancing figures framed against a stone wall, while below and above are entwined vines joined by a fine plaited vine handle. Meanwhile, above is it's pewter mounted hinged, shell type, lid surmounted by a superb harlequin mask finial. The base has the impressed marks, model number, and other marks.

It measures 13 3/8" (34cm) H x 7 1/2" (19cm) W (lip to handle) approx and is in quite good condition,, however it does have a problem. It has a hairline crack to the lid which is a bit difficult to see on top , although Ive taken a photo of the underneath which illustrates it better, other than that, there is no other defect to report - see photographs and details.

This is a lovely, rare, early period piece Minton Majolica which is in good condition which presents well that with a low start price, Im sure, will have great appeal to all collectors.

Almost everything I sell is in the condition I have bought it, unless otherwise stated, (I have learnt to my cost in the past not to tamper with an item), and therefore I have neither had items repaired nor restored. I will endeavour to report on an item which has had either; however I take no responsibility if an item has been tampered with and I cannot detect it.

OVERSEAS BUYERS

As different countries have different import laws and regulations it is incumbent upon the buyer to know what these are in relation to what they are bidding on. Almost all items I sell are antique unless otherwise stated and therefore well within the import requirements of this country, but maybe a grey area elsewhere, so please take note no responsibility will be taken if a problem with customs occurs.
