THE DIAL: 100% mint, the white enamel double sunk dial with black Roman numerals and in bright condition with no chips or hairlines. The dial with fine blue steel spade hands. Diameter is 42 mm. The crystal is also in excellent condition and retained securely. The watch dial signed J W Benson of London
THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with a gilded three quarter plate and a micro-star regulator, and gold screws. A cut two arm bimetallic balance, with Breguet hairspring and lever escapement. The movement overall of very good quality, with a cut-away plate and gold plated wheels. The watch ticking away on my desk as I type this, and keeping very good time for a 100 year old watch. The watch with 15 jewels and fully signed J W Benson, 63 & 64 Ludgate Hill, London, Warrant to the late Queen. The watch is much brighter and crisp than in these dark photos, which are limited by my camera and lighting equipment. The watch is in very good working order for its age.
THE CASE: 95% mint, the solid silver case measures an impressive 48 mm. The front and rear covers both close nice and tightly . The case fully marked with a case number of 685,689 and sterling silve rBirmingham marks and ALD Makers mark and number 600874. The rear cover in fine condition, with a few fine scratches and small dings to rear cover.
The watch comes with a new presentation box to store the watch when not in use.
This is a high quality case, a work of art in its own right in crisp condition and of jewel like quality. The pictures show minor reflections and various dark marks, these are an artefact from the lighting and are not present in the watch case. This is a very fine period watch in simply stunning condition, which is a very rare collectable item or a possible investment for the future or of course a fine gift for a birthday, anniversary, wedding etc.
